Currently Available Positions:
Sr. SaaS System Administrator
zPaper is seeking an exceptional System Administrator to operate, improve and monitor our growing SaaS cloud infrastructure in Amazon Web service (AWS) and other client on-premise servers. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in maintaining large scale, mission critical web services with various underlying services and dependencies on AWS cloud infrastructure. This person will be a key member of the team responsible for creating and maintaining a highly available and scalable cloud services environment. The candidate must have expert Linux administration skills to troubleshoot and diagnose problems when they occur and trace the symptoms back to the root cause. A successful candidate will have a passion for working with a wide variety of open source tools, be able to code and script, and enjoy working on large scale systems. The candidate must be a team player who can jump in and use their broad experience to recommend and implement best practices. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Systems Administrator to grow with us. This person will report to our VP of SaaS Operations and Development, and is located in our Roswell, GA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute as a member of the team to architect and build highly available and scalable web services on AWS.
- Deploy, monitor, and administer web applications and underlying services on AWS and other cloud infrastructure platforms
- Responsible for Linux systems administration, operations, automation, deployment, support and monitoring for all production and development systems
- Build automation scripts and frameworks using Jenkins and/or other related tools to automate the system and software deployments and alerts to monitor system health
- Lead technology initiatives that drive scalability and reliability
- Participate in capacity planning and demand forecasting
- Improve the performance of our web applications and solve scaling issues
- Write tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks
- Participate in 24×7 operation support and on-call rotation
- Scale services as needed.
- Monitor and test Disaster Recovery and Backup functions
- Assist in QA and OPS security testing and monitoring.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience as Systems Administrator in 24×7 production operations, with solid experience in Linux systems administration and architecture
- Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, RDS, and Cloudfront in a highly available and scalable production environment in multiple availability Zones and regions
- Familiarity and experience with continuous delivery model
- Experience developing automated deployment scripts and tools for system provisioning and configuration.
- Experience supporting web apps in Java, Tomcat and LAMP stacks
- Experience in Jenkins continuous integration, Build, Release and Deployment, GitHub
- Experience with monitoring/reporting technologies (e.g. CloudCheckr, Elastic search, Logstash, Kibana (ELK))
- Demonstrated good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Ability to effectively interface and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Team player that clearly communicates both written and verbally and has the ability to address and resolve issues in a professional manner
- Able to work on problems of significant scope independently
- Able to describe technical topics in a non-technical manner
- Able to clearly communicate technical approach, status and necessity for assistance
- Proficient in using command line tools to quickly triage and fix production issues then conduct root cause analysis
- B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
Must have:
- Expert Linux administration skills
- AWS experience, including EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, RDS, and CloudFront.
- Automation using Shell scripting, Jenkins
- MySQL, Tomcat, Apache 2
Nice to have:
- Asterisk, Hylafax+, PHP
- Network architecture and administration skills, VPN
- Java webapps development.
- Salesforce admin and/or development experience.
- SAML, OAUTH experience
- Experience with regulatory compliance standards & protocols for HIPAA, PCI, etc.
